Health Benefits

With today’s spiraling healthcare costs, you’ll be happy to know that we’ve put together health benefits that’ll let you rest easy. Enrollment in one of CCA’s health insurance plans will help protect you and your family against the rising costs of medical care and unexpected illness and injury. CCA typically offers its employees a choice of three healthcare plans, two Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans and a Consumer Driven Healthcare Plan. These plans provide coverage for a wide range of services including office visits, preventive care, hospitalization and prescription drugs. Our plans offer programs and resources to help you stay healthy, promote wellness and healthy living, and manage chronic conditions.

Dental Benefits

CCA offers its employees the choice of two dental plans. One plan provides coverage for routine dental checkups and care. The other plan, covers more extensive procedures such as crowns, root canals and orthodontics. The dental plan also includes a vision discount plan.

Vision Insurance Plan

CCA employees may also elect to participate in a vision insurance plan. This plan provides coverage for eye exams and glasses or contacts. It features a large national network that includes independent practitioners as well as many well known retail chains.

For each of these, plans, employees can chose the tier of coverage that they need, such as single, employee and spouse, employee and child(ren) or family coverage. Plus, employee premiums for health, dental and vision coverage are deducted on a pre-tax basis.

Survivor Benefits

CCA provides income security through a group term life insurance program to all eligible employees at no cost. An additional accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) benefit is also provided. Dependent life insurance is provided for eligible family members covered by dependent health insurance.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)

An FSA is an employer-sponsored plan that lets an employee deduct dollars from their paycheck and put that money into a special account that is protected from taxes. This money can then be used to reimburse eligible family care expenses related to medical and/or dependent care.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

CCA recognizes the importance of providing employees with the opportunity for rest, recreation and time for personal activities. For this reason, CCA offers Paid Time Off (PTO), which may be used for vacation, illness, personal business, family illness or holidays not observed by the company. . PTO is based on length of service and hours paid each pay period.

Separate from the PTO bank, CCA observes the following nine official holidays each calendar year:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Martin Luther King Day
  • Presidents Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Veterans Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Bereavement Leave

To help employees cope with the loss of a loved one, CCA provides up to 3 days of paid leave in the event of an immediate family member’s death. If additional time is needed, or for relationships outside of your immediate family, PTO may be taken upon approval.

Short-term Disability Benefit

If you suffer a short-term disability, CCA has you covered with a program that provides 60% of an employee's regular earnings for up to 12 weeks for a non-work related disability, subject to the terms and conditions of the plan. A long-term disability program is also offered.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Everyone has personal problems from time to time, and this program can help. It provides employees and their families with access to a licensed counselor who can provide three personal counseling sessions at no cost. The counselors are available to help with alcohol/drug abuse, crisis management, parenting problems, financial concerns, family problems, work difficulties, marital concerns, emotional issues and other personal issues. The program also includes a 24-hour hotline for employees and their families. Use of this program is entirely voluntary and confidential.

Benefits may vary by facility and may be different from the above descriptions. For more information on a particular facility’s benefits plan, contact the human resources manager at that facility.

Retirement Benefits

CCA offers employees retirement benefits through a 401(k) Savings and Retirement Plan, available to those who are at least 18 years old and who have completed 12 consecutive months and 1,000 hours or more of service with the company. Upon eligibility, employees may contribute, on a pre-tax basis, up to 90% of their gross bi-weekly pay into the Plan. The Plan also permits “catch up” contributions for eligible employees who are age 50 or over. All employee contributions are subject to IRS annual dollar limits.

For each dollar that you contribute, CCA will match your contributions dollar-for-dollar up to 5% of your eligible compensation. Participants are always 100% vested in the fair market value of any employee contributions made into the Plan while matching contributions made on your behalf by CCA will be subject to the plan’s vesting schedule, which is based on years of service with CCA. All investments (employee contributions and contributions made by CCA on your behalf) are “participant-directed”. This means that you determine how your current and future money will be allocated among the different funds offered by the plan. To assist with the goal of diversification, the CCA 401k Plan offers various investment options that provide differing levels of risk.
