Samuel Law was named warden at Crossroads Correctional Center in summer 2008, where he previously served as assistant warden. Law joined CCA in 1997 as a safety manager at North Fork Correctional Facility. He then served as quality assurance manager at Wheeler Correctional Facility for four years. Law also served as program manager at David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center. Prior to CCA, he worked for U.S. Corrections Corporation as an administrative assistant and correctional officer at River City Correctional Center. Law retired from the U.S. Army Military Police Corps in 1995 after serving for 21 years.

Crossroads Correctional Center is located in the north central Montana town of Shelby. The population of Shelby is approximately 3,300. The facility is the first private adult correctional center in the state of Montana and opened in September, 1999. Corrections Corporation of America financed, designed, built and manages CCC. Crossroads is the only adult institution in the Montana Prison System that has acheived both ACA and NCCHC accreditation.

Community Relations: CCC's Employee Committee supports community organizations including donating yearly to nine local high schools for their "Safe Graduation Parties" or scholarships and supports Hi-Line Women Against Breast Cancer every year. In 2007, the committee started a program that they hope will become an annual event, delivering Christmas presents to needy children in several area towns.

Community Activities: Crossroads Correctional Center is involved in the community in many ways. Warden MacDonald is a member of the Tri-County Job Service Board (CMT) and the City/County Planning Board. CCC's Employee Committee supports community organizations including eight local high school districts and the American Cancer Society. CCC has an Outside Inmate Work Force Crew, which participates in various local projects for the city of Shelby. The facility has a Community Advisory Committee which consists of approximately 13 members from the local community including the Mayor, County Commissioner, and the County Sheriff. Each quarter, the facility hosts a luncheon for all the committee members.

Programs Offered: FAITH-BASED: CCC employs a full-time chaplain that oversees all religious programming and coordinates all volunteer services. Crossroads provides a Sweat Lodge for Native Americans, which comprises about 25% of the general inmate population. Over a hundred volunteers provide a multitude of religious programming, which is available to all offenders. SUBSTANCE ABUSE: Intensive Treatment Unit-12 step recovery, Primary Care-Chemical Dependency, Relapse Prevention, Alcoholics Anonymous, UA Education Program-video program for those inmates who have failed a urinalysis EDUCTIONAL: Basic GED, Math and Advanced Math, Art History, English Literature, and Chemistry. Dante classes are also offered so the inmate can apply for college credit. Crossroads has also partnered with Browning Community College to offer inmates the opportunity to take college level courses and earn credit. VOCATIONAL: woodworking and computer competency courses LIFE SKILLS: cognitive principles and restructuring, parenting classes, anger management and instructive programs focused on employability OTHERS: Recreation and hobby- basketball, handball, weight lifting, running/jogging/cardio, softball, frisbee, horseshoes, volleyball, flag football and pickle ball Hobby- horsehair/leaster, hobby shop art, art beading, needlecraft and music Youth awareness- inmate volunteers host high school tours to discuss the issues of choices and consequences. Inmates are frank in discussions about their lifestyles before entering the prison system. Transitional Assistance Program- TAP provides inmates with access to community resources and assistance to allow them to better reintegrate into the community they are relocating to. Canine Companions for Independence Dog Program Inmate volunteers raise and train puppies from a California company. The dogs eventually become service dogs for handicapped (mostly wheelchair bound) individuals.
