New Website Launched for "CCA Communities"
Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) has launched a new Web site, www.ccacommunities.com, to provide information to residents of the more than 60 communities where it operates correctional facilities.
In a move to inform and educate communities new to CCA, CCA Communities serves as a resource beyond the corporate Web site and is intended to further reflect the company’s commitment to “care for our communities” and “serve our neighbors.”
The site will also feature an expanded menu of community-specific pages that include updates and news of interest to local leaders, civic professionals, media representatives and residents in areas where the company may be planning or is in the process of building or operating a new facility. Currently, the community of Nye County, Nevada, where CCA is developing Nevada Southern Detention Center, has a customized page. In 2008 alone, CCA added 9,400 beds, some in new communities and others as expansions to existing facilities.
“CCA takes pride in being a solid community partner, through both financial contributions and civic involvement,” said Louise Grant, CCA vice president of marketing and communications. “This new Web site allows us to directly communicate with these communities not only about new projects, but also about who we are as a company. This transparency is very important to us and our customers.”
CCA Communities also offers in-depth facts about timelines for project completion, economic impact, employment opportunities, CCA’s 25-year corrections management history, recent news and other project and company information. A major highlight of the site is a comprehensive frequently asked questions section titled “When Corrections Meets Communities” on topics such as safety and security, inmate programs, privatization and more. The site also features a Resource Center with a library of CCA news stories on economic development, careers and community involvement, featuring a reference section, where visitors may view and download detailed documents on a number of related interests.
“We acknowledge that corrections is an industry that carries with it many misperceptions and myths,” Grant said. “We understand and respect the questions residents may have when CCA establishes roots in a community. All features on our new Web site are intended to address those concerns and beliefs in a straightforward, fact-based way.”
