“CCA has been a great partner with us for nearly a decade now. Coffee Correctional Facility and Wheeler Correctional Facility certainly meet the standards of the Georgia Department of Corrections. I particularly appreciate CCA maintaining exemplary accreditation status with both the American Correctional Association and the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare. I look forward to a continued long relationship with them.”

Georgia Department of Corrections
Just-in-Time Beds
Local and state correctional systems often have a growing inmate population and too few beds to accommodate them.
Government correctional customers are increasingly utilizing CCA’s “just-in-time,” or immediate, bed space for varied reasons, including:
- Temporary beds while space is being developed in local or state systems;
- Immediate beds in the event of an emergency;
- Long-term beds for ongoing correctional management;
- Short- or long-term use to comply with capacity ratios outlined in policy.
Just as the reasons for needing beds just-in-time are numerous, CCA is continuously working to provide numerous beds for this ongoing demand. With new facilities and expansions under development, CCA’s available bed inventory offers flexible service to government partners.
Just-in-time beds provide a flexible solution for ever-changing inmate population needs, without pre-planning or advance budgeting of capital dollars, based on projections of inmate populations several years beforehand.
Given the current supply/demand environment, CCA plans to have 6,000 to 8,000 beds continuously under development to meet existing and potential customer needs.
